IGHG3 and malaria: Nasr et al. [17] showed that IgG3 antibodies specific to crude malarial antigen were more associated with reduced risk of clinical malaria in 131H/H individuals than in 131R/R individuals; weak but statistically significant association between low levels of anti-malarial IgG2 antibodies specific to a recombinant antigen in 131H allele carriers and reduced risk of severe malaria was also found.
