There exists little evidence of modifiable risk factors for AD [1]; disease-modifying therapies are not available [4], and of the symptomatic therapies the efficacy of cholinesterase inhibitors (ChEIs—donepezil, rivastigmine, and galantamine) in mild-to-moderate AD patients is questionable and has been widely debated [5,6]. This evidence concerns the gene BCHE and Alzheimer disease.
