Notably, transcripts of retinal disease genes, such as Crb1 (encoding Crumbs homolog 1), Abca4 (subfamily-D ATP-binding cassette member 4), Pde6a (phosphodiesterase 6A), Prpf8 (pre-mRNA processing factor 8) and Prpf31 (pre-mRNA processing factor 31 homolog), together with an additional 48 eye disease genes, are predicted to be targeted by these miRs (Additional data file 3). This evidence concerns the gene ABCD4 and eye disorder.
