Several epigenetic mechanisms have been implicated in E-cadherin regulation in breast cancer [53], among these, a few zinc-finger transcription factors are known to bind to E-box elements of the E-cadherin promoter and repress transcription, including Snail1 [11-14], Snail2 [15,16], and SIP1 [17]. This evidence concerns the gene SNAI2 and breast carcinoma.
