Loss-of-function variants in ANK2 (encodes ankyrin-B) cause a dominantly-inherited cardiac arrhythmia with increased risk for sudden cardiac death, initially termed type 4 long QT syndrome, and more recently renamed sick sinus syndrome with bradycardia or the “ankyrin-B syndrome” ([13]–[15]; OMIM). This evidence concerns the gene ANK2 and sick sinus syndrome.
