For all chosen genes downregulated in liver metastases and invasion front in comparison to the primary tumour, such as VEGF, BNIP3l and HSP27, we found a stronger cytoplasmatic and nuclear immunoreactivity in the primary tumour in comparison with liver metastases/tumour invasion front (examples shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3).
