Amann et al. found that both agents induced apoptosis in HCC827 cells (an NSCLC cell line with a 746E-750A in-frame deletion) and that the IC50 (50% inhibitory concentrations) of TKIs and cetuximab were more closely associated with the phosphorylation inhibition of extracellular signaling-related kinase (ERK) and Akt than with EGFR in HCC827, H1819, and H1299 cell lines [23]. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
