Nuclear localization of β-catenin is correlated with cyclin D1 expression in oral leukoplakia, and also Wnt3 expression in neighboring cells, known as a typical member of the Wnt family that activates β-catenin-mediated signaling [18,19], suggesting the involvement of Wnt/β-catenin signaling in the progression of dysplasia.
