After adjusting for tumour extent and Gleason score, the effect of MUC-1 was even stronger (HR 5.1 (95%CI=1.4–18) and 4.5 (95%CI=1.3–15), respectively), indicating that MUC-1 predicts prostate cancer death independently of clinical parameters.
