Unlike the wild-type p75NTR-expressing glioma cells in which expression of p75NTR causes a shift in BDNF localization from the medium to the cell lysate, cells expressing the mutant alleles (CRD105 and CRD130) did not result in a shift of BDNF localization, confirming that these mutants do not bind endogenous BDNF (Figure 5B).
