The HERA trial [12] was an international, multicenter, randomized, controlled trial comparing 1 year or 2 years of trastuzumab given every 3 weeks with observation (no trastuzumab) in patients with HER-2/neu-positive early breast cancer who had completed locoregional therapy and at least four cycles of neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy from a list of approved regimens. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast carcinoma.
