There are several recent reports on the infection of humanized Rag2−/−γc−/− (RAG-hu) [47]–[50] and NOD/SCID BLT mice [51] with HIV-1, but there are no reports yet published on the evaluation of antiretroviral efficacy in these models, and it has not yet been demonstrated that 50–60 mice can be generated with the CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells from a single donor. This evidence concerns the gene CD34 and infection.
