In non-small cell lung cancer and breast cancer cell lines, it has been shown that some small molecule EGFR inhibitors increase cell killing when used in combination with chemotherapeutics [13,14]; therefore, the interactions between EGFR inhibitors and cytotoxic agents represent a promising combination for the future treatment of epithelial tumors that are dependent upon EGFR-signaling. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and breast carcinoma.
