An interaction component between two loci has been suggested to play an important role in cancer susceptibility [4,12] and recently Tgfb1 was indicated as a corresponding gene for a skin tumour susceptible locus Skts14. This locus was shown to have interaction with Skts15, which overlaps with the Tgfbm3 locus mapped as Tgfb1 modifier locus [11]. Here, TGFB1 is linked to skin neoplasm.
