Further study revealed that genes directly involved in lipid metabolism, including Spot14, LPL, adrenomedullin, pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase, isoenzyme 4 and the FABP family: FABP 3 (muscle and heart), FABP 4 (adipocyte) and FABP 5 (psoriasis-associated), were highly expressed in adipose tissue; FABP 4 is the most highly expressed gene in this tissue. The gene discussed is PDK4; the disease is psoriasis.
