A post-hoc analysis restricted to the estrogen plus progestin trial yielded the following p-values for an interaction between baseline biomarker and HT with stroke in the estrogen plus progestin trial: IL-6 (p = 0.02), PAP (p = 0.002), D-dimer (p = 0.02), and leukocyte count (p = 0.04), suggesting that individuals with high levels of these biomarkers at baseline have lower stroke risk with estrogen plus progestin than women with lower levels of these biomarkers.
