A number of biological therapies have been recently approved for use in psoriasis, such as Alefacept (lymphocyte function-associated antigen [LFA]-3 T cell inhibitory protein [TIP]; anti-CD2; Amevive; Biogen Idec), which is effective in approximately 30% of psoriasis patients (75% clinical response from baseline) [4].
