The mRNA of survivin-ΔEx3 is detected by semiquantitative RT–PCR in cell lines derived from human cancers, like for Kaposi sarcoma (lanes 2, 3), cervival carcinoma (lane 4), fibrosarcoma (lane 5), non-small lung carcinoma (lane 7), osteosarcoma (lanes 8–9), leukaemia (lane 13), and also from cell lines established from normal tissues, like embryonic kidney cells (lane 1), pulmonary epithelial cells (lane 6), endothelial cells from umbilical vein (lanes 10, 11). Here, BIRC5 is linked to cancer.
