The role of various inflammatory mediators inadjuvant-induced arthritis has been well established [34, 35].In our study, rofecoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor, was found tobe more effective than MeDL and phenylbutazone in inhibiting theFCA-induced joint inflammation as reported earlier by Kumar et al.[21] and Francischi et al. [36]. This evidence concerns the gene PTGS2 and inflammatory response.
