The overall frequency of RASSF1A promoter methylation of 46.7% (57/122) in our study is similar to that found by Marsit et al [47% (83/178)] [17] and correlated significantly with adenocarcinoma (p = 0.031, table 2), in agreement with some previous studies [11,17,41], and marginally with tumor stage (p = 0.063, table 2).
