Brockmann et al (2003) detected motogenic effects of TGF-β2 in glioblastoma cell lines and our results demonstrate that exogenous TGF-β2 induces migration of glioma cells significantly via two different migration assays. Moreover, TGF-β2-specific phosporothioate antisense oligonucleotides as described previously (Nickl-Jockschat et al, 2007) significantly inhibit migration compared to a control mismatch oligonucleotide in our migration assay (Figure 3C). Here, TGFB2 is linked to central nervous system cancer.
