We reanalysed the data after excluding the most significant SNP (ESR1 rs3020314) and two SNPs (CASP8 rs1045485 and TGFB1 rs1982073), which have been confirmed as being associated with breast cancer in pooled data from up to 20 studies in the Breast Cancer Association Consortium [20]. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and breast carcinoma.
