Because (MLL+) acute leukemia can arise after chemotherapy with DNAt2 inhibitors, it is possible that these substances, which are found naturally in certain foods and beverages (e.g., fruits and vegetables, legumes, coffee), may contribute toward infant leukemia (Alexander et al. 2001; Ross et al. 1996; Spector et al. 2005). The gene discussed is KMT2A; the disease is acute leukemia.
