In our present study, we were able to detect only CD54 (but not CD106 and CD62E) on prostate blood vessels (Figure 1), whereas percentages of CD54-expressing vessels were significantly higher in carcinoma specimens (in both adenocarcinoma foci and perimalignant benign areas) than in NHPG specimens (Figure 1). The gene discussed is VCAM1; the disease is carcinoma.
