Genes involved in immune response and inflammation such as HLA class II, TRA@, LTB, TNFAIP3, IL-4R, IGLL1, CD1D, CD2, ITK, SOD2, DAF and GZMK, were associated selectively with longer survival, confirming once more the important interplay between the host immune system and malignant cells in melanoma. This evidence concerns the gene CD2 and melanoma.
