Genes involved in immune response and inflammation such as HLA class II, TRA@, LTB, TNFAIP3, IL-4R, IGLL1, CD1D, CD2, ITK, SOD2, DAF and GZMK, were associated selectively with longer survival, confirming once more the important interplay between the host immune system and malignant cells in melanoma. The gene discussed is CD55; the disease is melanoma.
