The demonstration that EBV genomes are present in the Hodgkin-Reed Sternberg (H-RS) cells of a proportion of Hodgkin's disease cases provided important new evidence of its role in the pathogenesis of the disease.2 In patients with EBV-associated Hodgkin's disease, H-RS cells express high levels of latent membrane protein 1 (LMP-1), which functions as a constitutively activated tumor necrosis factor receptor. Here, PDLIM7 is linked to Hodgkins lymphoma.
