Although it has not been demonstrated so far that IGF-II affects β-catenin localization also in CRC, the development of CRC is almost invariably associated with nuclear accumulation of β-catenin [17], leading to complexes with the transcriptional repressors of the TCF/LEF family and the activation of target genes encoding growth promoting factors [18].
