The Alzheimer's Disease Anti-inflammatory Prevention Trial (ADAPT) was designed to investigate whether the nonselective NSAID naproxen sodium (Aleve, from Bayer, Leverkusen, Germany) or the selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor celecoxib (Celebrex, from Pfizer, New York, New York, United States) can prevent AD or delay cognitive decline. This evidence concerns the gene PTGS2 and Alzheimer disease.
