Intestinal parasites(especially helminths) can be tissue dwelling or intestinal butall induce a dramatic expansion of the Th2 lymphocyte subset[24, 25].It remains unclear whether these Th2-derivedresponses, including IgE, eosinophilia, and mastocytosis areimportant in the protective immune response to the parasite, orare responsible for immune-mediated pathology, or both [24],but at least is a paraclinical marker of infection. This evidence concerns the gene IGHE and infection.
