The modest effect of the primary chemotherapy in ER positive tumours was noted by other investigators, who recently reported a much higher pCR rate with chemotherapy in ER/PgR negative patients (Faneyete et al, 2003; Colleoni et al, 2004; Ring et al, 2004; Gianni et al, 2005) and seems to suggest that aggressive chemotherapy should not be advisable in hormone-sensitive tumours.
