In uterine cancer cells, the expression of COX-2 is regulated by the activity of the PI3-K/Akt pathway [8,9], and since resveratrol regulates COX-2 expression and the extent of phosphorylation of AKT in cells expressing constitutive phospho-AKT levels, it is possible that PI3-K activity is targeted by resveratrol in these cells. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and uterine cancer.
