CABG: PCT levels in sepsis > SIRS > no infection.Patients with no infection had a minimal rise (always less than 0.3 μg/ml) in PCT.Patients with SIRS also had high PCT levels.PCT peaked at 24 hours and normalised in 7 days all patients.HTx: PCT levels were higher in bacterial and fungal infection versus others; CRP was also high in bacterial and fungal infections.
