CALCA and systemic inflammatory response syndrome: PCT levels increased in the first 4 days, peaked on day 1, and were higher in patients with SIRS than no-SIRS.CRP levels peaked on day 1 and remained high through day 8.After valvular surgery on day 2, CRP levels were similar in patients with SIRS and no-SIRS.No correlation was observed between PCT levels and duration of CPB, aortic clamping, mechanical ventilation, or ICU stay.No correlation was observed between PCT and CRP levels in no-complication group.
