Other recent studies have shown variable antineoplastic effects of PPARγ agonists in NB cell lines expressing PPARγ (Han et al, 2001, Servidei et al, 2004, Valentiner et al, 2005), but the activity of PPARγ was addressed only in one study, in which PPARγ was found to be functionally active in different cell lines and particularly in SK-N-AS (Servidei et al, 2004). The gene discussed is PPARG; the disease is neuroblastoma.
