Interestingly in the cancer tissues hnRNP K localisation was aberrant; in normal colon hnRNP K was present exclusively in the nucleus whereas in tumour tissues the protein was observed both in the cytoplasm and the nucleus and in Dukes C cancers both nuclear and cytoplasmic hnRNP K was significantly increased compared with early stage tumours. This evidence concerns the gene HNRNPK and neoplasm.
