Regarding the present study, one cannot rule outthe possibility that the absence of obesity, significant hyperglycaemia, and the normal levels of HDL-cholesterol in the diabetic group may have contributed to these results. In addition, the finding that serum levels of both CRP andtriglycerides are positively correlated provides a further indicationthat both variables contribute to the vascular inflammatoryprocess. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and Hyperglycemia.
