In TNF-α-stimulated RA synovial fibroblasts, simvastatin caused a marked reduction in synovial fibroblast viability compared with atorvastatin both at 3 μM (35 ± 11% versus 67 ± 13%, respectively; p = 0.0008) and at 10 μM (2 ± 5% versus 23 ± 6%, respectively; p = 8 × 10-5). Here, TNF is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
