Recently, positional cloning studies have identified four novel candidate genes for asthma, including the genes encoding PDH finger protein 11 (PHF11) on chromosome 13q14 [12] dipeptidyl peptidase IV-related protein 3 (DPP10) on chromosome 2q14-q32 [13], a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain 33 (ADAM33) on chromosome 20p13 [14], and G protein-coupled receptor for asthma susceptibility (GPRA) on 7p [15]. This evidence concerns the gene ADAM33 and asthma.
