The NF-ATc2 isoform has been found to participate in the BCR-induced apoptosis in B-cell-derived Burkitt's lymphoma cell lines, thus the presence of Nfatc2ip and Fkbp1 suggests that these interacting proteins may also be important in regulating Ca++/calmodulin/calcineurin/NFAT signaling in B cells. This evidence concerns the gene BCR and Burkitt lymphoma.
