In a previous study, we demonstrated that the Poly(A) binding protein-Interacting Protein 2 (PAIP2) is a strong regulator of VEGF-A mRNA expression in a Chinese hamster fibroblast-derived cell line as well as in two different human tumour cell lines derived from epidermoid carcinoma (A-431) and cervix adenocarcinoma (HeLa) (Onesto et al, 2004). This evidence concerns the gene PAIP2 and squamous cell carcinoma.
