Diergaarde et al also reported a statistically significant inverse association between CRC cases with APC truncation mutation and "starting smoking ≤ 35 years ago" (OR 0.02, CI 0.1–0.8) [11], and Lûchtenborg et al reported an inverse association between "age first smoked ≥ 25 years" and CRC cases with APC truncation mutation (OR 0.54, CI 0.26–1.10) [10]. The gene discussed is APC; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
