Cutaneous lesions of MF are characterised by an epidermal Th1-type cytokine profile consisting of interleukin-2 and IFN-γ, whereas a type 2 cytokine production profile, consisting of IL-4, is more likely to occur in Sézary syndrome, the erythrodermic variant of MF (Saed et al, 1994). Here, IL2 is linked to mycosis fungoides.
