The CCND1 A870G polymorphism appeared to confer an elevated risk for cancers in the distal colon or rectum (rectum to splenic flexure) (OR, 2.84; 95% CI, 1.27–6.33), but not for proximal cancers (splenic flexure to caecum) (OR, 1.26; 95% CI, 0.61–2.60) in the women. This evidence concerns the gene CCND1 and cancer.
