The longest haplotypes around derived alleles at >50% frequency extend 1.39 cM in East Asians (near the Gaucher disease gene, GBA), 1.25 cM in Europeans (near NKX2–2, which is involved in insulin regulation), and 0.97 cM in Yoruba (in a gene desert on Chromosome 5p15). This evidence concerns the gene INS and Gaucher disease.
