CRP and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: We will also determine whether: 1) CRP reductions are associated with improved health-related quality of life; 2) CRP reductions are associated with improved forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), and 3) inhaled fluticasone alone or in combination with salmeterol can also reduce interleukin (IL)-6 and other pro-inflammatory biomarkers in COPD.
