The HLA-DRB1*0301–DQB1*0201 (DR3–DQ2) block is present in a number of populations, including Caucasians (Whites of northern and western European ancestry), ethnic Africans and Filipinos [59–61], and is often associated with type 1 diabetes, coeliac disease, autoimmune thyroid disease, and multiple sclerosis incidence [25,60,62].
