In bleomycin-induced lung fibrosis, neutralization of MIP-2 (a possible murine analogue of human IL-8) attenuates fibrosis [28], and systemic administration of IFN-γ inducible protein (IP)-10 or transgenic overexpression of IP-10 reduces fibrosis [30,31].
