Intrasplenically injected B16 melanoma (B16M) cells also increased the expression of VCAM-1 significantly on hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cells within the first 24 h, which correlated with the increased in vitro adhesion of B16M cells to hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cells isolated from B16M cell-injected mice [35]. The gene discussed is VCAM1; the disease is melanoma.
