De Jong and colleagues [15] reported co-expression of PDGF-A/PDGFR-α in epithelium, stroma and endothelium of invasive breast carcinomas and obtained indications about possible autocrine and paracrine mechanisms in the stroma, where they might be responsible for a baseline stromal proliferation, and in the endothelium, where they promote a basic level of angiogenesis. This evidence concerns the gene PDGFRA and invasive breast carcinoma.
