The Yorkshire Leukaemia Group investigated 870 adults with 'persistent' LGL/NKa+ (Large Granular Lymphocyte/Natural Killer associated) expansions suggest that clonal expansions may be more frequent than reported and found high proportion with persistent neutropenia and all patients with CD8+NKa+ abnormalities had rearranged TCR genes [6]. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is leukemia.
