In this study, we screened a human cDNA library to identify possible alternative splice forms of CAPON, documented CAPON mRNA and protein expression in postmortem tissue from the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) of human brains, and investigated the expression of CAPON by quantitative real-time PCR in the Stanley Array Collection, derived from DLPFCs of individuals with schizophrenia and with bipolar disorder, and a set who were psychiatrically normal controls. Here, NOS1AP is linked to bipolar disorder.
